Q: How long have you been involved with The Open Group?
Just recently became involved.  I was introduced to The Open Group through ONC/FHA and Open Initiatives by the Federal Government.

Q. What do you do, and how long have you been doing it?

As Senior Vice President and Founder of AEGIS, I have been supporting the advancement of Standards development and industry adoption through our approach to using Standards based Cloud Testing Services, Testing-as-a-Service is supported by the AEGIS Developers Integration Lab (DIL) for the last 6+ years.

Q: Why did your organization become a member and what does your involvement look like?  What forum did your organization join?

After learning about your mission, we felt that The Open Group aligns with our mission as well and I saw it as an opportunity to continue to educate other Open Initiatives of our mission and how we believe the National ROI for the service as we provide helps both the US and entire Global community attempting to work toward Open Interoperable solutions that are Standards based.  AEGIS joined The Open Group Healthcare Forum.

Q: How has membership in The Open Group benefited you, your organization and the industry at large?

I hope to learn more when I attend my first Open Group event next week in Baltimore!

Q: What contributions do you hope to bring to The Open Group?

Initially knowledge, and sharing our experiences and expose The Open Group community to programs they might take advantage of and participate in.

Q: Why is it important for other organizations to join The Open Group?

Sharing joint experiences in the setting that The Open Group provides allows for greater collaboration and an excellent learning environment for companies who are trying to solve problems bigger than their own organizations, like the complexities in information sharing in Healthcare for example.

Q: What are your hobbies?
I personally enjoy sharing my experience, and talking to larger communities on the benefits associated with Test-Driven-Development.  When I am not working, I like to sail, and drive fast cars.

Q: What book are you currently reading?
Ghost Fleet by P. W. Singer  http://www.ghostfleetbook.com/

Q.  What social networks do you belong to?
I currently am a heavy Tweeter - @Interopguy.  I also use LinkedIn for my professional network, I do not use Facebook, or Google very much – but have an identity out there.

Q: Any last thoughts?

Of note is that Gartner has recognized our efforts and published us both in a Research Note, and picked AEGIS as a 2015 Top Strategic Technology for Scalable Interoperability.
